Over the weekend, I got the opportunity to go and be a server for one night (a Saturday night) at a local restaurant in town that I don’t typically work at. The experience was heartwarming to see so many people be so nice to servers who volunteered to come and help at their restaurants from our home restaurants.
On another note, I think that regulating being nice to service workers should be implemented! I love my job, and I have always loved serving and I am so grateful that happy customers make up the love I have that sometimes gets taken away from angry customers.
Being a server has let me make so many connections to different people that I never thought I would talk to. When I tell people that I religiously have coffee dates with a 73 year old man named Bob, they think I’m crazy!
All in all, I had a very packed weekend, but that is much better than sitting at home watching The Office for the, what seems like, (and probably is) 19th time through.

The first few weeks of school have been very full. I have had several assignments, papers, and tests already in a short amount of time. It has not felt overwhelming yet but I am sure that will come in the following weeks as I descend into madness.
I also am glad we have entered the voting period in the presidential primaries after what has felt like years in this current election cycle. I am excited to vote in the upcoming primary on March 10th and to support Bernie Sanders. It’s fun to have a candidate that I am excited about and makes the election cycle more tolerable. Although politics are very stressful and often annoying I enjoy election year and the political theory involved in elections and campaigning and see how the campaigns evolve over the coming months.
