What are some music recommendations? – Josh K.

Thank you for the question Josh, I like talking about myself! I will warn you however that I have been publicly shamed for having a poor music taste. I will try my best though.

If you are one of the few people left out there who never got away from 2000’s pop like me, I got the Holy Grail for you. Ke$ha (it’s just Kesha now) is a queen and a lot of her stuff is underrated. If you ignore the Animal and Cannibal albums and search through some of the other ones, I bet you will find something you like. High Road for example has this song called “Resentment” that I really like. Also, it is hard to go wrong with Selena Gomez.

I have been accused of being a sad boy when it comes to music and I barely deny it. NF, Rex Orange County, Demi Lovato, and Lorde are some of the current sad artists I have been listening to. I strongly recommend Demi Lovato’s new album. It has so many good songs with some solid messages. Rex Orange County’s album Pony is a really solid album and is one of the only albums I can listen to all the way through and not skip any songs. It is a little short, however.

I like some rap like NF, but lately, artists like Eminem haven’t been dropping anything good. I even feel like Lil Wayne and a lot of other good rappers have fallen off. However, Machine Gun Kelly’s album Tickets to my Downfall is really solid and almost completely leaves behind his rap routes. I personally like it more than his rap. I really don’t like Kanye West and Lil Uzi Vert for some reason, though I will admit they each have a couple of good songs like Uzi’s Paradise and That Way.

When it comes to Rock and Roll, I have no idea what I’m talking about. I like Green Day and all the basic songs that everyone knows. If it is on Rockband or Guitar Hero I would recommend it. Paramore though… That band slaps. I really like the punk kind of bands I guess. It is hard to beat the classics in my opinion.

If you are looking for classical recommendations, I have nothing to offer you except for Flight of the Valkyries, and that is just more of a meme song at this point.

If we are talking soundtracks though, I would recommend you go buy Super Smash Bros Ultimate, go to the music section, and listen away. They have the classics from every video game featured. I know a lot of people have been listening to soundtracks lately, so why not a hundred soundtracks?

Obviously, Shrek 2 has the best soundtrack in movie history. I would listen to anything off that soundtrack. Livin’ la Vida Loca, I Need Some Sleep, Accidentally in Love, Funkytown, Changes, Holding Out For A Hero, and Little Drops of Poison are all absolutely slappin’ songs.

Thanks, Josh for the question! I hope you find your new favorite song. If you or any other questions have questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] or slip it under my door in the SUB.
